Howard Twichell Passes Away
Howard Scott Twichell - Born June 13,
1919 in Athol, Mass; died February 11, 2008 in Dallas, TX. He is
preceded in death by his father, Carl Scott Twichell, Mother, Mary
Alice Bassett, and brother Paul Maxham Twichell.
After graduating from high school, he
served in the Civilian Conservation Corp in Colorado. He then joined
the Army Air Corp and served through WWII with an honorable
discharge as Lieutenant. Married Ruth Harriet Weiler, August 4, 1943
and moved to Houston, TX. Two sons, Carl Scott Twichell,II and
Michael F. Twichell. The family moved to Dallas in 1961 where Howard
worked for Tri-State Machinery Company.
In April, 1966, he started the Howard
S. Twichell Company, woodworking machinery specialists. He was one
of the founding members of the United Woodworking Machinery Exchange
and later served as president. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and
bird hunting with his sons. He and Ruth enjoyed several trips
outside the United States, many with old friends. Later in life, he
was an avid stamp collector.
He courageously and gracefully battled
Alzheimer’s disease for over 17 years. He is survived by two sons,
Scott and Michael, Scott’s wife, Lee, and their son Kevin Scott
Twichell and daughter Shelby Kathleen Twichell; Mike’s children,
daughters Lauren Harryette Ruth Twichell, Leah Michelle Twichell,
and son John Michael Scott Twichell; brother Charles Bassett
Twichell, Sr. of Santa Rosa,CA and step-brother, Jon Twichell.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater
Dallas Chapter. His family and friends will
greatly miss him.

IWF 2008 online registration for
buyers/attendees opened
January 2, 2008 at
www.iwfatlanta.com. By registering in advance, buyers pay $15 and
save $10 over the on-site registration fee of $25, plus the added
convenience of having their badges mailed to them in advance of the
show.
