WIC 2006 Helps Members Meet
Their Goals
According to member feedback, WIC 2006 was
a rousing success. The four-day event was hosted by the Wailea Marriott
Resort in Maui, Hawaii and featured the usual mix of business and social
time that allowed WMIA members to build and enhance relationships with
their industry partners.

on customer relationship management. His presentation explored how
companies can develop and deploy a customer retention strategy by
building a customer-focused culture within their organization and by
implementing key strategies for success. The presentation was very well
received and

Customer Relationship
Management: An Executive Summary
CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
has been around almost a decade now and is still discussed in
professional sales circles with both applause and disdain. It seems
that almost all progressive companies have taken up the cause of CRM
and an almost equal number have completely failed, re-started at
least once, or boiled down their expectations significantly.

Where are they Now?
Since WMIA began its scholarship
program in 1998, the association has awarded more than $100,000 in
scholarship rewards to students pursuing careers in the field of
woodworking technology. Of those funds, $46,000 has be given to
students attending Pittsburg State University's Wood Technology
program in Pittsburg, Kansas. WMIA asked the university to provide
information on where scholarship recipients are now.

Hey, The Truck is Going
Right by There Anyway
Incremental sales volume is the great
white whale of distribution management. This means that very few
managers have actually seen it, but they have spent a lot of time,
effort and even sorrow in the search. If they do find it, the
results frequently are not what was anticipated.
