IWF 2008 is Off to an Impressive Start

The International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair-USA® has completed the initial booth assignments for IWF 2008, with more than 960 companies assigned more than 764,000 net square feet of exhibit space. The initial assignment, representing only previous exhibitors puts IWF 2008 on track to set records for the number of exhibitors and to be at least double the size of any similar industry event in North or South America.

IWF will hold its biennial event on Wednesday-Saturday August 20-23, 2008, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

“This strong response by our previous exhibitors shows that IWF continues to be the predominant show in our industry worldwide for sales and marketing of products for woodworking and related manufacturing,” said Charles R. (Tommy) Tomkins, IWF 2008 Chairman and President of Cresent Fine Furniture Company, based in Gallatin, Tennessee. “IWF is known throughout the world as a buying show with over 51% of the buyers holding top management positions within their company. They know that, by attending IWF they will see the most innovative products available, which will allow them to compete in a fast-changing environment.”

In addition to a strong renewal base of past exhibitors, IWF has been receiving many inquiries from new potential exhibitors in key market segments such as cabinetry, furniture, supplies, architectural woodworking and more than woodworking segments areas, solid surfaces, plastics, flooring, windows/doors, machine tooling, composites, material handling and forest products.

Exhibitors will showcase the most innovative new technology, machinery, supplies and services ever displayed in one place at one show in the Western hemisphere. IWF buyers will see live demonstrations of new equipment presented by the leading manufacturers in the industry and have the opportunity to explore new ideas through informative technical sessions and networking with peers from around the world.

IWF 2008 will present cutting edge programs geared to meet challenges facing the industry and provide solutions that will impact the industry’s bottom line. The 2008 Fair will showcase a Technical Conference program which will provide real answers from industry leaders, a showcase for new product development at the New Product Showcase, the most coveted award for innovation in the industry The Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award® and a trend setting student Design Emphasis Competition.
