WMIA Scholarship Materials
on the Way
You will soon receive
posters and brochures to promote the WMIA Education Foundation
Scholarship Program. WMIA asks you to distribute these to your customers
who might want to display the posters in their plants. If you
would like additional brochures or posters, contact Carol Hannan at
(410) 628-1970. This is an opportunity to show your customers the
active role your company takes to improve the industry.
The application deadline is March
1, 2007.
WMIA Education Foundation invites you to
be a part of our efforts in promoting the fields of wood science and
wood technology. By taking an active role through education, we are
improving the quality of potential personnel while demonstrating that
the woodworking industry recognizes the importance of education.
2007 Membership Dues
Invoiced
By now, you should have received an
invoice for your 2007 WMIA membership dues. This invoice is due on
receipt. WMIA is keeping to a tight schedule in order to produce a
membership directory early next year. If you have questions about
your dues invoice, contact Carol Hannan at 410-628-1970.
Avoiding Investment Myopia
For most of the last decade, WMIA
members have taken a strong cash-flow orientation to their
operations. The rallying cry has been “Profit is fine, but cash is
king.” There is now strong evidence that the king is in exile.
