Delmac, A.G. Raymond to host seminar on using technology to build traditional furniture

Delmac Lean Manufacturing SeminarDelmac Machinery Group invites you to attend our next Profit Solutions Seminar at our Greensboro facility November 4 or 5, 2009, where we will build traditional furniture engineered by Delmac and A.G. Raymond and Company using dowel construction and 21st Century machine technology.

We will have three guest speakers who are experts in lean manufacturing and woodworking technology. Harry Watt and Phil Mitchell from NCSU Wood Products Extension are co-authors of “Strategies for the New American Furniture Industry.” NC State University Wood Products Extension focuses on helping wood manufacturers retool and implement lean processes and advanced manufacturing techniques.

We will also have Terry Krauss, founder of Forward Motion Technologies. Terry served for over six years as a Business Extension Specialist for NC State University's Industrial Extension Service, preceded by 20 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, plant engineering and production management.

These industry leaders will cover Lean Manufacturing in detail and review the key steps to becoming lean, equipment organization and product design to achieve a smooth work flow, increase production and reduce floor space. In addition, we will also review the latest technology and manufacturing techniques in Case Goods and Furniture Manufacturing where we will build both a cabinet and night stand utilizing nested base machining and dowel construction.

These educational seminars are designed to show you how employing the latest in machinery technology coupled with process speed by smart and efficient factory flow can take dollars out of your process and add them to your bottom line!
