Danville Community College Opening Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Wood Products Technology

Stiles Machinery Inc. is pleased to share that Danville Community College is opening a Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Wood Products Technology.

 

According to Gerald Sexton, the Instructor/Coordinator at the Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Wood Products Technology, Danville Community College will be opening their Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Wood Products Technology to support a local furniture and wood products manufacturers in the region. This will be a one-of-a-kind program in collaboration with three local high school systems, the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center and Virginia Tech Department of Wood Science.

 

Mr. Sexton states that this is a true 2+2+2 program, offering career opportunities and degrees from the high schools all the way through a four-year university. Danville Community College is a licensed WoodLINKS USA site and is currently developing partnerships with other companies which support the wood industry such as Stiles.
