High School Honors Colonial Saw

April 26, 2010

KINGSTON, MA — David Rakauskas, vice president of Colonial Saw Co., was recently awarded the Career and Technical Education Advisor of the Year 2009 award by Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston, MA. Rakauskas is a graduate of the school.

“Silver Lake is grateful for David’s contributions over the years as a member of the Carpentry
Advisory Committee,” said Elliott Glass, the director of career and technical education at the school. The administration credits Rakauskas’ donation of time and knowledge for moving forward several important initiatives to incorporate the integration of technology into the school’s carpentry and cabinetmaking programs.

In addition to Rakauskas’ contributions of time, Colonial Saw Co. donated a machine at cost to the high school in March of 2009. “Students are learning valuable skills used in the cabinetmaking industry,” Glass said.
