Saddle ‘Em Up for Boot Camp!
For the past several years, WMIA has been proud to sponsor the Wood Technology Industry Institute’s (WTII) Boot Camp at Pittsburg State University. This five-day program is a wood processing industry overview. It’s a unique project-based program that provides an exposure-level curriculum and hands-on approach to several of the industry’s fundamental wood processing applications, and the machinery used in those manufacturing processes.
The sixth session of the WTII Boot Camp will be held May 15-19, 2017. This is perhaps the only five-day intensive program that’s appropriate for members of your company’s sales, marketing, and/or executive teams as well as new service technicians, since topics covered include: AutoCAD, CAM Software, CNC, Wood Science, Primary Processing, Finishing, Veneering, Cabinetry, Machine Woods, Tool Technology, Millwork, and Facilities Management.
A number of WMIA-member companies have sent staff members to Boot Camp, and there is a growing number of members who send new staff at least once a year or even to both sessions in one year. It’s a fantastic deal: WMIA members receive a $450 discount on Boot Camp registration, and the $1950 tuition includes hotel, meals, course, and project materials.
We’ve heard from a number of members that the Boot Camp is a tremendously useful program, and the discount is one of the more valuable member benefits WMIA offers. If you’ve been considering sending employees, don’t sit on the fence any longer—register them for the upcoming session, May 15-19.
